For some reason the other day I decided to take a store bought sweater that I had apart (see it here), now I have 3 beautiful balls of yarn and I don't have any idea what to do with them...

I love the crochet backpack so I would say: go for it! (or is this not suitable for the backpack - I am not completely into the crochet things as you know, hehe).
