Staying warm

With all the snow falling outside, we have managed to stay pretty nice and warm inside.

The fact that I don't have to drive to work makes me much more relaxed and able to enjoy the snow like never before. I bought lots of groceries, so I don't have to worry about that either.

I did have to go to my doctor's appointment, but since my husband didn't have to go to work, he drove me there. In fact he drove me everywhere! Post Office, bank, grocery store, yarn shop... I am all set. :o)
Anyhow, to enjoy our days even more, I baked a yummy chocolate cake and have been making a wonderful hot cocoa, from a recipe I found online awhile back and since I love it so much, I decided to share it with you, so you can enjoy the winter that is coming!

Hot cocoa recipe:

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup hot water
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix cocoa, sugar, water and salt in a saucepan. Over medium heat, stir constantly until mixture boils. Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Serve immediately.

Stay warm!

  1. Can you believe ALL this SNOW?! Wow, it's really neat, but also it makes you feel a little land locked. Oh well, a cup of hot cocoa & cookies makes it all better.
