Just Be Happy

I got up this morning and really had to push myself to go to the Needle Arts Guild meeting, not because I don't like going, but I am just a home body these days, but I'm really glad I went.
Today was our general meeting and the theme was "The gift of giving" and we were all gathered to make fleece hats and scarves that will later be donated to our community. Well, we tried to have some done at the meeting, but there weren't enough sewing machines, cutting boards or scissors to get all done, so I volunteered to bring some fleece home and do the work.
Here is a picture of the box of fabric I brought home:
I'll be posting pictures of the evolution of my work, once I have stuff ready.
And this is a picture of the scarf I made yesterday, just like the white one I made for my customer, but this time I made it black. It's a basic double crochet scarf, fun to make and the best part is that it can be worn with pretty much everything. I also made a rose to go with it, but haven't had time to add the bar pin in the back yet.

Well, I think the beautiful and sunny day has inspired me... I feel good! So good that I decided to cook something different for dinner. I am making dolmas (stuffed grape leaves, Lebanese style) and Adobo Chicken (Filipino style). Funny, huh? A friend of mine had us over for dinner last week and she made the stuffed grape leaves, which reminds me of Brazil... we eat lots of it there, but I have never made it myself - I have my fingers crossed.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. I love your post. It's always about something you created. I wish I could crochet. I don't know anyone who does it.
I can knit a scarf. My last project that I never finished is an oatmeal colored poncho.
    I have crochet envy.

  3. DVD case - it's interesting to see the "tools" everybody uses. Very innovative. :-)
