Just Be Happy

I am just loving all the colorful crochet thread that I have and it all started with vase cozy project, which I have already finished, but will wait until I buy some fresh cut flowers to take a nice picture to show you guys.

Today I realized I wasn't ready to put the cheerful and colorful thread away, but at the same time I didn't want to make another cozy... so I had to think of a new project.

For the longest time, I have been meaning to make crochet hexagons, but I didn't want to make an afghan, just because it would be too much work for me right now, and knowing myself, I know that I would obsess with the project and would have to work like crazy until it's finished... so why should I put that kind of stress on myself right now?

Anyhow, I remembered that I had seen a picture of a patchwork ball from Anna Maria Horner's book, and I thought that I could use that idea, but instead of fabric, my ball will be made out of crochet hexagons!

You can find detailed instruction for the hexagons here.

For these hexagons, I am using 100% cotton crochet thread size 10, most of the thread I have is from Brazil.

  1. You are so talented! What a cool project - Lucas will love it. great colors too.

  2. geez girl, do you ever sleep.
how long were you in brazil??

  3. This is going to be one great ball! Can't wait to see the vase cozy. I know it will be nice as well. :-)

  4. What a cool idea! I think I could do that and it would feed my motif need.

  6. brilliant idea!! can't wait to see what it looks like when finished.

  7. Where did you buy thread from brazil? Such great colors, I can't wait to see the finished item!
