Just Be Happy

Sunday, April 26, 2009

Since I finished my table runner I have been working on a new project, I've been making these cute little business card/gift card holders. I decided to work on something that didn't take as much time, but something that made me happy at the same time. I'm really pleased with these little guys, I have listed them to my etsy shop, but I am still making more, in different colors - I love colors!!!

Anyways, it was a very nice and productive weekend, I made some strawberry jello with chopped pears and put them in my favorite little containers, I smile every time I open the fridge and see them there... :o)

Also made my favorite chocolate cake. I got this recipe from a lady that volunteers at the Visitor Center where I used to work, it's called "Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake". The picture isn't nowhere near as good as the cake! If you like chocolate cake, you must try this recipe!

Ingredients:

Cooking oil spray
1 pk. (18.25 oz) plain devil's food OR dark chocolate fudge cake mix
1 pk. (3.9 oz) chocolate instant pudding mix
4 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Rack in the center of oven, preheat to 350ºF. Lightly mist 12-CUP Bundt pan with cooking spray.
Place cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, warm water and oil into large mixing bowl.
Blen with electic mixer at low speed for one minute to med. Beat 2 - 3 minutes more.
Fold in the chocolate chips making sure they are well-distributed through out the batter. Pour batter into prepared pan, smoothig it out with spatula. Put into oven.
Bake cake until it springs back when lightly pressed with your finger, and just starts to pull away from teh sides of the pan. 45-50.
Remove from over, place on write rack. Cool for 10-20 minutes. Invert and remove from pan.
Serve while warm.

Before I finish this post, I wanted to show you the cute gift I received from Wanda, she had a giveaway and I was one of the lucky winners - thank you so much!

Have a nice week everyone!

  1. Alessandra, these business card holders of yours are so beautiful. I love your perfectly even stitches and your color choices.

That Jello looks really good, and I might add, the perfect balance to the chocolate cake. *grin* That recipe is very simple and I know that cake is moist. Yum. Yum. Chocolate.

  15. Your store is great! I absolutely am addicted to head coverings of any kind, so to find a good quality hat, well, it's hard to find- and 15 bucks? seriously?
I crochet, and I know it didn't take a few minutes to "whip that up"!!

    Awesome!

the button jewelry is totally cute too.
