Just Be Happy

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Since I was 8 years old, mother's day was always a very sore day for me. Why 8? because that is the age I was when I lost my mom. She was 40 years old and passed away due to cancer.
It was very heard to go to school when mother's day was approaching, we all had to make our little presents that were intended to be given to our moms and I ended up always crying at school and then at home too.
My mom was very talented, she knew how to sew, paint, crochet, knit, cook and she did all of these things beautifully! I have wonderful memories of my mom sitting in the room that was her studio, painting. I do have some frames in my house that were made by her and given to me by my dad after I got married - I really treasure them.
Last year was even more painful then before, besides not having a mom, I had lost my first child. (if you are not familiar with that story you can read about it here)
But, now things have changed for the better. Mother's day is no longer a sad day for me, it is now a day I look forward to.
Motherhood is one of the best things that have ever happened to me, my baby Lucas is a blessing and I am grateful that I have him every minute of my life.
Happy Mother's day to all the moms out there!
