Just Be Happy

I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to make this messenger bag using crochet thread, perhaps I wasn't thinking at all... Now I am too far to turn back, I'm going for it.

Just wish me luck, because who knows how long this will take... if you have crocheted with size 10 thread you know what I am talking about.

So, sometimes I get bored of the black thread and feel the urge to crochet something colorful... like this little rooster that I made today. I still have to make a few more roosters and after that I will add them to a kitchen towel, that later on will be in my etsy shop.

That's all for now. :o)

I have done that before started a project thinking I could use a different yarn and I actually will rip it....for one reason or another. I think your bag looks great so far but how much thread will it take?

  4. We've seen your works, and we know this bag will be great! So this is what you do, crochet some of the black thread and then treat yourself with a colorful rooster, then go back to the bag. :-)

  5. I totally know what you mean about the crochet thread... a few months ago I decided to crochet a baby dress for a friend of mine. I'm only about 1/8 of the way through and I have no motivation to work on it. It's just so tedious and I love seeing fast results. soooo... It's been stashed away in my closet. Maybe one day I'll pick it back up again, but probably not for the friend as I had intended.

I'm sure the messenger bag will look GREAT and worth the hard work in the end.

    LOVE the rooster! Super cute!

  6. I know what you mean and I don't know why but crocheting in black is always more tedious than any other colour. I'm making a requested pillow in black yarn (don't want to think about #10 thread!) but yesterday I frogged it. Now I'm trying to knit it instead of crochet it.

The little rooster is cute! Can't wait to see that colourful kitchen towel :-D

  7. LOVE LOVE LOVE the little rooster! He'd look great on my kitchen windowsill.

Hee hee - I know what you mean about having to change it up sometimes - that is why I started sewing those little handbags as something different from all the baby items. :-) THANKS for your comment on them! I too love the pink paisley!!

    Happy Thursday!!

  8. I can't wait to see it when it's finished. Try working in the sunlight near a window or even outside if the weather permitts. That should help a bit if the color is a bit much to work with. Otherwise I do the same as you, work on small projects between long "ish" one's as well.

    take care.

Been a little out of touch lately, but as usual, I can see you are keeping up with your crochet, blogging, and being a new mom with no problems at all!
