I am back to my lovely home in the US and super happy to be with my husband, I have no words to explain how I feel, specially after all the trouble I went through to come back. It's a long story, but I'll try to give you a short version of it. On the 31st of May, me, my dad and my son went to the international airport in Brazil to check in our luggage and for my surprise, the law has changed and they didn't allow me to fly with Lucas. Can you just believe it?? I had to book a hotel room again and see a judge to give me an authorization to bring my son back home! It was so stressful, I felt horrible when I had to call my husband and tell him we were stuck there... I am glad things worked out and that we were able to come back. My dad will stay with us until the end of the month and we are simply loving it, he seems to be having a good time, too.
Now, let me just show you the lacy looking scarf that I started knitting last night with a gorgeous yarn I brought from Brazil. Isn't it beautiful? I just had to start knitting this to see what it would look like, but this will have to wait until I finish the granny square blanket (pictures to come soon) I am working on, which is also a beauty! I really missed crafting!
Oh, and when I got home I received a notice from the post office that a package was waiting for me from Russia, how cool is that?! Irina sent me beautiful yarn, a dark chocolate bar that is engraved and so pretty that I am having a hard time eating it and also a super cute gecko bookmark made by her and souvenirs. Thank you Irina, I am so blessed!
OH SHOOT!!!! that must have been scary!!!! glad to know you are back home!
ReplyDeleteThe scarf is gorgeous!!!! what pattern are you using????

Wow that's horrible. You know, that actually happened to me once when I was a child going to Canada with my mom. They pulled us into a little room and interviewed my mom. They had to have my dad fax a letter saying it was ok for my mom to take me out of the country without him. It was very strange and only happened that one time. I love the lacy scarf you're working on- beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteOi Alessandra....
ReplyDeleteTa uma lindeza esse blog, Parabéns e bom fim de semana !!!
How difficult that must have been for you while in Brazil. I am glad to hear that you are back safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is so gorgeous. I have never seen one like it. I need to find something fun to crochet. I am in a bit of a rut with all the construction work here and then trying to reorganize and clean everything.

That is just too crazy! I'm glad we don't have any ambition to leave the country. You never know what will happen anymore.
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf! Very pretty color you picked for it.
Oh I'm so glad that you're home safely. I can't imagine what you went through but isn't it wonderful that you were in your home country with your dad? Imagine if you were in a totally foreign country with those things happening...in another language!
ReplyDeleteThe lacy scarf is a dream! So, so beautiful.
Again, welcome back! :-D
