Camp Out

I think I got out of my funk, thank goodness! I started to diet on May 1st and started going to zumba at the YMCA as well. I have yet to lose 40 pounds, but so far I have lost 8 pounds, so I am trying to be positive and keep going.

I also have decided to make myself a priority. What do I mean about that? Well, I mean that I am taking care of myself a little more, treating myself to manicures and pedicures more often, going to the gym alone and leaving the kids at home with their dad once in awhile to have a moment for myself. It's not much, my outings don't last longer than one hour and a half, but when I get back I always feel rejuvenated and I think it's important for me to get connected to who I am and not just be a mom all the time.

Anyways, life is good.

Yesterday my husband and son decided to camp out in the backyard. My husband made us hot dogs in the BBQ for dinner and pancakes for breakfast this morning. The little man was ecstatic, he couldn't wait to get dark to go sleep outside.

This picture I took at 2am through the glass door, when I got up to feed the baby. It was so cold outside (42 degrees) that I couldn't believe they were still in the tent. They ended up coming inside at 5:30 in the morning, but it was my husband the one who gave up first. LOL

Today is another glorious sunny day and I'm looking forward to spending it with my family.
Have a great weekend!

  2. You are doing really well! You are so right to give a little more time to yourself-it is so important. Mothers are often the ones who keep everything ticking along so making sure you are healthy and happy is ultimately giving to your family.

Tha camping looks fun, but I don't fancy the cold!!!

  3. Good job with the weight loss and getting healthy!!
I always have to remind myself to do stuff for myself once in a while. It's tough but feels so good after you do!
