She wins!

Who wins? Our little Sophia wins. Why? Because we can't take her crying at night anymore. Every night she has been waking up every 2 hours and when it gets closer to morning time she wakes up even more often and with her sharing the room with her brother, we can't let her cry there because she wakes him up and he starts yelling "stop crying! stop crying!" and honestly, I don't blame him.

So she wins, our guest/office/craft room is now hers. Yep, we stored the queen size bed in the shed and did some Spring cleaning. Lots of craft supplies went to the goodwill and I still have more things to go through. I still have one corner of the room with a desk and shelves above it, where the printer, shipping supplies and part of my craft supplies are stored.

We went to ikea and got a new dresser to put her clothes, because the closet is pretty much taken with hand me downs clothes that are too big, vacuum, carpet shampooer and other junk. So, she really needed a dresser to put all her cute clean clothes in. Oh, we bought that lamp, too. The mirror was already in the room, but the frame used to be a weird color, something between between silver and gold, but now it's a fabulous girly pink!

P.S: I need to do something about the dark green curtains, but until she is sleeping through the night and I can feel normal, I don't know if I have it in me to get my sewing machine out to make curtains.

The frames and the letters of her name were already painted and were being used in the other room, but we added the bookshelves, that are actually spray painted ikea spice racks, however my little lady needs some books, her brother has tons but he is not in the sharing mood. LOL

The wall where the frames are used to be green, I convinced my husband that it needed to be painted, but he put his foot down and said he was not going to paint it pink (how did he know I wanted a pink wall? LOL), so he just used some white paint we had in the garage and I am happy about it, I think it looks happy with all the colorful stuff in the room.

The princess piggy bank was a Christmas gift from my husband's uncle and it makes me giggle every time I look at it, I think it's so funny to see that pig with a tutu and tiara. LOL

If I could add something else, I would add a pink rug, but that's something we don't *need* and I will have to wait and see if I find a really inexpensive one or second hand.

What do you think? Do you like the room?

  2. I love the new space. Love the bursts of color. And you know what? If you don't feel like sewing, you can always use sheets as curtains. No cutting. :-)

  3. Nice bedroom for your little girl. I like it very much!
But I am a little puzzled the baby is allowed to sleep alone in her room -- here most parents have their babies in their room till they are old enough to sleep on beds. Do you feel at ease at nights?
