Run

On May 1st I made a decision to start exercising and get back in shape, lose the baby weight and fit in my pre-pregnancy clothes. I have never been a very athletic person, but I want to be an example for my kids, I want them to grow up in a healthy environment, so I decided to do the Couch to 5K program.

On the first week, I ran for 45 seconds at a time and I tell you, I was tired!

Here are some cell phone pictures of the park where I trained. Cell phone pictures because I wasn't about to bring a big camera while I was running... LOL

When I began the program I was a little skeptical that I was going to be able to run a 5K, honestly. I know that a 5K race is not a big deal for a lot of people, but it is a big deal to me. I feel accomplished and proud of myself to sticking to my goal!

This was me today, stretching before the race started. I swear that when I was at about the 4th kilometer I thought I wasn't going to be able to finish it, but the thought of seeing my husband, my son and my daughter waiting for me at the finishing line made me push through it.

I ran my first 5K race, I did it! I am 33 years old, I have given birth to three children and I had a surgery to take my appendix out 3 weeks ago and I am so happy!

I hope I have inspired you to start running or doing anything you feel like doing, just go for it!

  1. I'm so happy for you. You have made a tremendous accomplishment. I hope to do the same at the end of my training. I've done it before but it's been a while. :-)
