Mailbox Yarn Bombing

On Sunday late afternoon I was sitting on the couch and all of the blue I decided I wanted to yarn bomb my mailbox. Yes, just like that the idea popped in my head, I don't even know why. The first thing I did was ask my husband if the mailbox was considered our property, not public property and he said yes, it's ours and he also said he didn't mind if I yarn bombed it.

So I grabbed a piece of paper, pen and tape measure and went outside to measure the mailbox.

After putting the kids to bed I grabbed my box of scraps and started making granny squares, then my husband also went to bed and I stayed up still making granny squares. By the time I went to bed I have the 36 squares I needed for the post done.

Monday was a hectic day with jogging in the morning, hospital visit, first day of swimming lessons for this season, little princess had a doctor check up and both kids got flu shots, grocery shopping and in between the regular stuff like house chores, cooking, bathing kids, etc... BUT after everyone went to bed, I stayed up again and made the squares for the mailbox. I was so tired that I made a few mistakes, had to unravel and re-do, but I had a goal, I had to finish it.

At 7 o'clock this morning, I went outside and installed the yarn bomb before my husband left for work. I am really pleased with the way it looks, it makes me smile and that's pretty much I all needed.

So I went to your website to do that through your follow by email widget, however when I do this I am notified that this has been disabled on your blog.
Just wanted to let you know.
Hope all is good with you otherwise.
Your mailbox is going up on my Pinterest asap.

  10. It's so pretty! I wish I knew how to crochet, hmm, maybe I could cover my mailbox with a quilt or something. But, our mailbox is on someone else's property, not ours. I think I'll paint it, thanks for giving us ideas about this.
