First of all, I don't have an excuse for my disappearance other than telling you that life just happened. The day before we left Brazil both of my kids had to go to the ER and get their stomach pumped and as soon as we arrived they got both sick, my toddler with a double ear infection and an awful cough and my baby (toddler now, too?!) with fever and now sneezing and coughing. Ugh.
Anyhow, I wanted to show you some pictures of my sweet pea's first birthday. It was amazing to be able to celebrate her with my family, we don't usually have the opportunity to do that, so that made it extra especial.
How in the world is she one already? Where did time go? I don't know, but she is sure a blessing and she came to bring us so much joy and happiness and I can't imagine our lives without her.
The Happy Birthday banner, written in Portuguese, I brought from the US, my friend Marcia from BeMyBee made it for me.
The cake was delicious, it was a white cake with strawberry filling. I ordered the cake, I wanted a round cake to be able to put that tutu skirt I made.
The chocolate cupcakes I made and frosted, not the best decorating job int he world, but if you consider the amount of time I had on my hands, they look pretty good. LOL. The candy you see around it are called "brigadeiros" (the chocolate) and "beijinhos" (white ones).
I had the hardest time trying to figure out what to make to give away as party favors until I had an epiphany to make pink crochet apple cozies. I am crocheting all the time, so I figured it would be perfect to give away something I love making and I am glad they were a hit, people were all over them!
I wish I had time to snap better pictures of the whole table, but it was a BUSY day, my whole family was there, my sweet pea had her baptism in the morning, so we were gone until the party started, but I am glad I at least remembered to take some pictures.
