So I can finally blog about my Design Wars creation and I am so happy and proud to introduce you to these adorable little guys!
When I was first invited to join this round of Design Wars, I had no idea what I was going to make, but I accepted the challenge and once the yarn was picked an idea popped in my head: barn yard animals!
I honestly don't know where the idea came from, but I could see them in my head, but I wanted to make something different than hats, not that there is anything wrong with a hat, I just make hats all the time and I wanted my followers to see that I can step out of the box and make something I have never done before.
My original thought was to beg, I meant ask (LOL), my husband to make the wooden stools for me, but then I realized that if he made the stools people that bought the pattern would have to get the stools made by someone and it would be a hassle for most people, so I visited the wood craft aisles of Michael's and Joann's and found the round stools in both stores. If you don't have a Joann's or Michael's close by, don't fret, I also found them online (Home Depot's website)
Seeing these guys come to life was so fun, my kids also loved them and it was so hard to keep them away until I got the professional pictures taken! By the way, I would like to thank my friend Kamieo of Kamieo Photography for taking the time to photograph these for me, Kamieo is expecting and has been feeling very fatigued and nauseated, but she knew how important this project was to me and she was a real trooper and gave me all the edited images super fast to make sure I met the deadlines.
My kids always inspire me so much and that's why I let my son name the stools for me, he is four years old and he chose Moo Moo (the cow), Mud Mud (the pig) and Beak Beak (the chick) and when he said their names, I almost teared up because I felt like it was so genuine, so cute and beautiful to see how a child's mind works.
Oh, and back at the photo shoot day... I had gone to the car to put some stuff away with my son and Kamieo worked her magic and made my little lady smile so adorably.
And in this picture (and all the ones my sweet pea was sitting on the fence) she Photoshopped my arm out. Isn't it amazing? You can't even tell I was holding my darling from behind!
I hope you like them as much as I do!
