We had such a beautiful weekend here in the Pacific Northwest, really really beautiful, the kind of weather I wish we had everyday, but I know that is not possible, so we enjoyed every-single-minute of it.
Our weekend was filled with family time, crafts, yummy food, park visits and crochet.
On Saturday I decided I would make the little lady a sweater dress to match her burgundy-ish boots, because those boots are totally awesome, they are rain boots and they fit super good, but it's so hard to make them look good with any outfit.
I didn't use a pattern so what was supposed to be the little lady's sweater dress turned out to be a sweater for the little man and I tell you, he LOVES it, I can't even believe how much he likes it!
But I didn't want to give up, I knew I could do it, so I tweaked a few things, but I had one problem: not enough of the deep red yarn left, so I decided to use it as an accent color and I think it must have been an intervention from heaven, because I absolutely love the way it turned out.
So this afternoon before we went to Costco, I took the kids to a nearby park and took some pictures of them sporting their new handmade outfits.
Aren't we lucky to live in a place with so much beauty around?? I know it rains a whole lot here, but it sure is beautiful.
Now I am addicted, I can't wait to go through my yarn stash and pick out some colors to make some more sweaters (and dresses) for my kids.
