Just Be Happy

Pieces of my life

I feel like I haven't blogged forever, that's because I really haven't. (ha!)
My 6 year old lost his first tooth (picture), two weeks later he lost his second. It was so exciting, so fun to see his happy face going through this milestone. The tooth fairy brought him one silver dollar each time and he was so grateful, he has no concept of money really, so he was giddy to get what he called "a big fat dollar coin". I love it his innocence, it is so precious.

The weather has been glorious lately and we have been staying outside and enjoying it as much as possible. On Fridays, my little boy doesn't have kindergarten so we went to the beach for a picnic, my husband called to let me know he was getting off of work early and I told him where we were and he joined us. Oh what fun it was!

My husband remodeled the upstairs (master bathroom, master bedroom and the kids rooms) and everything is so crispy clean and the smell is so good, no more stinky old carpet! I made a new paint for my sweet pea's room and bought a few super hero one for my little man, also bought adorable knobs for the kids' closets. These are the ones in my daughter's room:

My Mother's Day was fantastic (happy belated Mother's Day to the moms that read this blog!). It really was, my husband did an awesome job in making me feel special. We went to the Farmer's Market in the morning, had Thai food for lunch, I got a manicure and pedicure and a beautiful hanging basket. Also had a "mommy & me" tea with my little girl at her preschool. She sang with her buddies and gave me a card and a potted plant (picture below). I love the homemade gifts so much!

This last weekend we went to a friend's house so the kids could play in the bouncy house, they had a blast, then we had the friends over for a BBQ. I just love BBQ season, it is the best time to have friends over, watch the kids play in the backyard, enjoy the beautiful weather that we long for all year long.

And yesterday we went to my son's kindergarten field trip to a state park. The tide was so low and we were able to see SO MANY creatures (red rock crabs, hermit crabs, sea anemones, sea stars, etc). I felt lucky to be able to chaperone and be part of it. My sweet pea came along and had a great time, too!

This is a Pacific Graceful Crab:

And this is a Moon Slug, sheesh, that thing was huge!

Now it's time for me to get the kids ready for the day. Cheers!
