A simple gift

So the other day I dropped my little girl off at preschool, despite all the deadlines and chores I had to do at home, I decided to go to Target to find her a Christmas present. I was overwhelmed by the amount of toys, but couldn't believe that nothing there seemed to be meaningful. I came home empty handed and quite disappointed, to tell you the truth.

Later that day, a friend mentioned that she was collecting Bratz dolls to give them a "make under" and I felt like a light was just lit in my head! Right away I put a call out to my friends and asked them to keep their eyes peeled for Bratz dolls at second hand stores and sure enough, a friend sent me a text saying she had a little suitcase with 10 of them that I could have.

The next day I got the dolls and started to work, you can see what they looked like before:

This is the before of the doll that is wearing the blue sweater and purple bonnet in the first picture.

This is the before of the doll in the yellow dress.

I forgot to take a before picture of this one, so I just put a regular Bratz so you can do some comparing.

I am so pleased with the way the dolls are turning out, I still want to make some more, it's quite fun to see the transformation happening. I hope my little girl loves them, I will let you know how it goes later!

By the way, I wanted to mention that the inspiration for making these came from the Tree Change Dolls and that the dolls are I am making are just not for sale, they are just for my sweet pea.
