October Happenings

You know that feeling you have that you blinked and time passed? That is how I feel about this October - bam!

However, I can look back and appreciate all we got done. So, here are a few highlights:

My handy husband remodeled our downstairs bathroom, from top to bottom. He gutted it completely, even the toilet is new. It was fun for me to play Joanna Gaines... LOL. I created a Pinterest board (here), I chose everything, the tiles, vanity, lights, faucet and he put it all together.

Of course, I had to add a little something crocheted to my bathroom, otherwise it wouldn't be my house, right? I made some simple cotton washcloths, they add a lot of texture and I always love a little handmade/homemade touch. (You can find the pattern here)

My sweet girl had a school field trip to a pumpkin farm...

and she picked a great little pumpkin that later that day we worked together to transform it into an unicorn. Thank goodness for yarn and crochet!

We also carved our family pumpkins like we do every year, but this year the kids had little carving tools and really helped cleaning and carving. My husband went with the traditional Jack O'lantern and the sweet pea chose a kitty design.

The big boy is really into Lego Ninjago at the moment, so that is was an easy choice for him. I ended up having to paint my pumpkin because it was beginning to rot, plan B ended up being fast and a good way to show the kids that things don't always go the way we plan it, but we have to roll with it.

Last but not least, I got a kick start on my holiday gift making, with this adorable little lovey (pattern here). So fun to make, specially now that my babies are not babies anymore, I can get it out of my system by making baby stuff for friends. ;)

Cheers!
