I am feeling festive! After all the birthday party decorations were put away, I really felt like it was time to start decorating for the holidays. We put up garlands outside and one around the stair banister, this weekend I am hoping to bring the boxes in from the garage and go nuts.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Talking about going nuts, I was working so hard on these Gift Sacks that I thought my wrists were going to fall off (LOL), but I am really pleased with the way they turned out and I feel like they are a great way to add a handmade touch to this season.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

I am so very proud to present you my newest design, the Honeycomb Hat! I have been sitting on this design for a long while, mostly because I was having a hard time finding the time to sit down and write the pattern when so many things are pulling me in different directions. You know, the usual... kids, home, activities... ha! Isn't that just how life goes? But I finally managed to sit down and record a support video, write the pattern and get the ball rolling!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
What do you think? Would you make one?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Gp59PVU0rsY/XbNLQxQu_CI/AAAAAAAAM8Y/qi2xzXsmQMAXAzD0ruB5eKbv7FR1-qXogCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/fullsizeoutput_85c5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1068" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Gp59PVU0rsY/XbNLQxQu_CI/AAAAAAAAM8Y/qi2xzXsmQMAXAzD0ruB5eKbv7FR1-qXogCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/fullsizeoutput_85c5.jpeg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Sometimes I make things I like, but sometimes I make things I LOVE! This throw is one of my love ones. When I tried to draw the graph for it, I couldn't get the repeats to align right, it was so frustrating, I might or might not have shed a few angry tears, but the good news is that my math loving husband arouse to the occasion and saved me by drawing the graph! LOL</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Then, the fun part of choosing colors and crocheting started. Due our insanely busy schedule lately, it took me 2 months to make it, which is a crazy amount of time for me, I usually get a blanket done much faster than that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Anyhow, what do you think?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
If you fancy yourself to give it a try, the pattern is available in all my shops. (<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/maze-throw">ravelry</a>, etsy, <a href="http://www.justbehappycrochet.com/product/maze-throw">website</a>)</div>

Believe it or not, I don't like making things in pairs, however, by completely changing the colors of each sock, I tricked myself into making 4 pairs of socks and I loved every minute of it. I used Scheepjes Softfun Aquarel, which is a really nice and soft DK weight yarn and it's offered in some gorgeous colors!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Back in July of last year, I was able to attend the Crochet Guild of America conference in Portland, Oregon. While the traveling itself is super fun, because well, you get to visit new places and eat awesome food, the best part for me is to meet mind-like people. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I was invited to go to dinner with Susan (from Felted Button), Sara (editor of Simply Crochet Magazine) and Anita (from Scheepjes Yarn) and that dinner is the sweetest memory I have from that trip!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
My point is that after getting to know Anita a little bit, I felt really excited to design something using Scheejes Yarn, so this cowl was made using the Namaste line, which has really lovely rich colors and it's very soft, which makes it a wonderful yarn to make something to wear around your neck.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
A couple of years ago I went to the CGOA (Crochet Guild of America) conference in Charleston, SC and I bought this beautiful yarn. I had no idea what I was going to make with it, I just knew it was calling my name.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It took me quite awhile for me to figure out what to do with it, as I don't usually use this weight for my designs. Well, I am pleased with the way it turned out, this is a great accessory to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The linked stitches make a solid fabric, it doesn't have holes like a regular double crochet or half double crochet fabric does and the simply edging gives it a nice polished look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I have been wanting to make a white-ish blanket for awhile to put it on the foot of my bed and then the other day when we went Whidbey Island for my husband to run a marathon, we stayed at a vacation rental home and they had a cream colored chevron crocheted blanket and I thought "that is it, I've got to make mine!". </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Once we returned home, I started working and the Fireside Blanket came to life.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The texture of this blanket is my favorite thing about it, nothing is more satisfying than transforming plain solid yarn into something beautiful with your own hands, it is truly a special thing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
These amazing photos were captured by Amanda Tipton Photography - I just adore her work!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
What do you think? Are you ready to make one?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

Hello there!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am back with a new design, the Easy Peasy Hat. I am so in love, this hat is so fun to make, the texture is scrumptious and it works up quickly, which is always a bonus in my opinion.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can find the pattern on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-peasy-hat-4">ravelry</a>, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/624016860/instant-download-easy-peasy-hat-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_1">etsy</a> and my <a href="http://www.justbehappycrochet.com/product/easy-peasy-hat">website</a>, too.</div>

I have been thinking about making a market bag for awhile, but I wanted to do make it with a different material other than cotton, so I thought jute would be a good alternative. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other day my kids had a lemonade stand in front our house, it seems like it has become a tradition to put the lemonade stand up at least once a year. They make the lemonade from scratch and I even think that squeezing the lemons is one of their favorite parts of the whole process. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N8rd6uyt2MY/W2MlGFAOjNI/AAAAAAAAMcw/FD9O8FaEz74F-yL_fPa_KHc6YHFCKdvFwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_5369.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N8rd6uyt2MY/W2MlGFAOjNI/AAAAAAAAMcw/FD9O8FaEz74F-yL_fPa_KHc6YHFCKdvFwCLcBGAs/s400/IMG_5369.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
So being the crochet addict that I am, I decided to make some lemon slices to dress up the stand and after putting some pictures on instagram, I had some requests for the pattern, so I thought I'd write it up for you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>Supplies:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
- Worsted weight yarn in yellow and white</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
- Crochet hook 4.00mm</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
- Yarn needle</div>
- Scissors<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-K3P6oHxUryI/W2MmlBsKFrI/AAAAAAAAMc8/pTinfKVHqG8SnTs4yffY6-ESGTMaZowBQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_5767.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-K3P6oHxUryI/W2MmlBsKFrI/AAAAAAAAMc8/pTinfKVHqG8SnTs4yffY6-ESGTMaZowBQCLcBGAs/s400/IMG_5767.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>Round 1:</b> With the white yarn, make a magic ring. Chain 1 to start, single crochet 8 inside of the ring and pull the tail to close the gap. Finish the last single crochet by joining the yellow yarn, like you see on the picture below. (8 sc)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<i>Note: you can fasten off the white if you prefer, I just left it hanging on the back because we will reuse it in round 6</i>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<b>Round 2:</b> With the yellow yarn, 2 sc in each stitch around. (16 sc)<br />
<b>Round 3:</b> *2 sc in the same stitch, 1 sc in the next stitch* 8 times. (24 sc)<br />
<b>Round 4:</b> *2 sc in the same stitch, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts* 8 times. (32 sc)<br />
<b>Round 5:</b> *2 sc in the same stitch, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts* 8 times. (40 sc)<br />
<b>Round 6: </b>Join the white yarn and working on the front loops only (see picture below), make 1 slip stitch in each stitch around. Fasten off the white yarn leaving a long tail (about 50 inches)<br />

Here's another hat that I recently published, this is the Ric Rac Hat. It's another hat full of texture and it's a lot of fun to make!<br />

The pattern is available <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/arrowhead-hat-5">here</a>.<br />

I hope you like it as much as I do!<br />

It's February and a new pattern has been published, it is the Cobblestones Throw.<br />
I love the colors I picked, I was a little skeptical in the beginning because you know, I am always making super colorful stuff, but it turned out better than I imagined.<br />
This is a great pattern to work on, after awhile you can remember the repeats and don't even have to look at the graph. I made the whole things while watching TV with my husband in the evenings.<br />
If you wish to give it a try, the pattern is available on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cobblestones-throw">ravelry</a>, <a href="https://www.craftsy.com/crocheting/patterns/cobblestones-throw/563775">craftsy</a>, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/580636664/instant-download-cobblestones-throw?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=cobblestones%20throw&ref=sr_gallery-1-26">etsy</a> and my <a href="http://www.justbehappycrochet.com/product/cobblestones-throw">website</a>, too.<br />

I have been on a hat and blanket kick lately, those are the two things I have been designing the most and I am so glad, because those are the two things I like to crochet the most. I love texture, it is super cool in my opinion to transform a solid simple skein of yarn into something new, unique.<br />
My son loved this hat so much that he asked me to name it after him, so I did and now you the pattern for the Lucas Beanie is available in all my shops.<br />

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F43vg2IdSB0/WhHa6ojf3KI/AAAAAAAAMKc/5s_OxLRQkE0fWYTxWLoCXyw1Buh9xPpkwCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1068" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F43vg2IdSB0/WhHa6ojf3KI/AAAAAAAAMKc/5s_OxLRQkE0fWYTxWLoCXyw1Buh9xPpkwCLcBGAs/s400/fsc1.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Foundation single crochet has become one of my favorite ways to start my projects! Why? Well, for many reasons, for example:<br />
<br />
- when working on a hat or a garment from the bottom up, the foundation single crochet gives you the much needed stretch.<br />
- it's easier! Yes, I'm not kidding! Once you get the hang go it you will be amazed at how simple it really is. One of my favorite things about it is that you don't have to wrestle with the tight starting chain when using this method.<br />
- it doesn't twist like the regular chain + single crochet would (pictured below):<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fRRGEori470/WhHa6vjqqFI/AAAAAAAAMKY/x5v1hhM81uUrFiSg2d6Nnlme2Ka1jtJogCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fRRGEori470/WhHa6vjqqFI/AAAAAAAAMKY/x5v1hhM81uUrFiSg2d6Nnlme2Ka1jtJogCLcBGAs/s400/fsc2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
So, let's do it!<br />
Start with a slip knot on your hook:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t5hGtisS1l4/WhHdBEkPUnI/AAAAAAAAMKo/kAl1o2Nks680abUM1yTp7ypYkYRrwhpDgCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t5hGtisS1l4/WhHdBEkPUnI/AAAAAAAAMKo/kAl1o2Nks680abUM1yTp7ypYkYRrwhpDgCLcBGAs/s400/fsc3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Chain 2:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SEirni2b9Dc/WhHdLeMSN1I/AAAAAAAAMKs/MXeI9pGqFgA6VJjrJHcCd6BHDXBSYgLKwCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SEirni2b9Dc/WhHdLeMSN1I/AAAAAAAAMKs/MXeI9pGqFgA6VJjrJHcCd6BHDXBSYgLKwCLcBGAs/s400/fsc4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Insert your hook in the second stitch from the hook (the first chain you made). Yarn over and pull up a loop:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mBPaoh5CNqw/WhHdy1Qdc0I/AAAAAAAAMK0/lcsjl0iQ-V8or-e3o4HWmXXtJmCToylqwCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mBPaoh5CNqw/WhHdy1Qdc0I/AAAAAAAAMK0/lcsjl0iQ-V8or-e3o4HWmXXtJmCToylqwCLcBGAs/s400/fsc5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Yarn over and pull up through one loop. This creates what we call the "chain".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HORK4vp5uBo/WhHezHpGLyI/AAAAAAAAMLA/esmhqj5fWSgSmtMQZnYwKtvPWwySfxwKACLcBGAs/s1600/fsc6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HORK4vp5uBo/WhHezHpGLyI/AAAAAAAAMLA/esmhqj5fWSgSmtMQZnYwKtvPWwySfxwKACLcBGAs/s400/fsc6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Yarn over and pull up through both loops. Your first fsc is done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p3XnV_wAsDA/WhHgFvdUhWI/AAAAAAAAMLM/H8Cmxnus_pAcOTVQb8UlS-Fjbk44YNPcgCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p3XnV_wAsDA/WhHgFvdUhWI/AAAAAAAAMLM/H8Cmxnus_pAcOTVQb8UlS-Fjbk44YNPcgCLcBGAs/s400/fsc7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Now, to create more stitches, you insert your hook in "the chain" (where the pin is in the picture below). Yarn over, pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through both loops. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Repeat until you have the desired number of single crochets.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rfhui-1rmlI/WhHgtFDGzmI/AAAAAAAAMLU/zdDqmn5a3YAxvGhdjOl38jtPkXvAaaU4gCLcBGAs/s1600/fsc8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rfhui-1rmlI/WhHgtFDGzmI/AAAAAAAAMLU/zdDqmn5a3YAxvGhdjOl38jtPkXvAaaU4gCLcBGAs/s400/fsc8.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Cheers!</div>
