Just Be Happy

My son was playing in the backyard yesterday and ran back inside with this rock in his hands and said: "I found a heart and I want you to keep it forever. I love you".
I love him more than I can explain.

Happy Little Things

I have been feeling inspired to cook, clean and craft lately and it feels so wonderful to find joy in the things I choose to do. Crafting really calms me down and oh boy, I need calming down! I am such an anxious person, it's not even funny.
Anyhow, here I have some random pictures of some happy little things that I bought/made recently that I just really wanted to share.

No joke, I am tickled pink every time I get to use my little sheep crochet hook!  I crochet so much and I thought I would give a gift to myself, something that will make me smile is totally worth it, would you agree? *wink* I also gifted myself with some amazingly yummy and beautiful crochet decorated cookies that I custom ordered from Manjar

For my beautiful little lady I made this gorgeous hand stitched bunny, that had me in awe from the minute I saw it (you can get the pattern here), but it took some courage in my part to finally go ahead and purchase the pattern, I was so intimidated by all the hand stitching and it turns out the dress (I used the sewing machine) was harder to make then the whole bunny, however, it was worth it!  I am in love.
The bunny has been put away until next month, when my sweet pea turns two {how is she going to turn 2 already???}

Over the weekend I tested a crochet pattern for A La Sascha for this adorable dragon - my little man is digging it and I also crocheted a little peg doll take along, why not?

If that wasn't enough in the craft department, yesterday I felt the need to modge podge these adorable blocks, they are animals and you can mix and match them - I purchased the download from the Caravan Shoppe.

Happy Hump Day!

Today I took my little man to Seattle on a date. My wonderful husband heard on the radio that Teatro Zinzanni had a new kids show with Recess Monkey and suggested that I took our son on a date and he would watch our sweet pea, I sure love that man, he is an amazing dad and husband.

We had a blast at the show, I had been there a couple of times for their dinner shows, but this was really really fun. After the show we walked to the Seattle Center and ate lunch at the Skillet Counter, looked at the International Fountain and Space Needle and by chance saw they were having a Day of the Dead  Festival, so the little man ended up making a craft.

I feel like we got so lucky, it was cold, but such a  sunny and beautiful day with the yellow, orange and red leaves on the ground. To end our date on a high note, nothing better than a blueberry Space Needle shaped lollipop, right?

Thursday Picnic

We had a very thick fog here (in Tacoma, Washington - in case you are new to the blog) that lasted over a week. It was so thick that the sun wasn't able to burn it off, I heard lots of people complaining that they thought it was spooky, creepy, this and that... but I personally liked it, I chose to look at it as if it was a cloud, it was kind of fun to think we were living in a big cloud.

We went to the park, nobody was there to play, but we had fun, I brought a rag to wipe down the equipment and the kids had a blast and I felt so proud of myself for thinking of it. ;)) We also had a picnic, grilled cheese sandwiches, pickles and juice - that's all I could come up with quickly... after we were full and happy we walked to the conservatory, a big and beautiful green house that happened to be all decorated for Halloween, the kids fed the fish, looked at beautiful flowers and had fun pointing out the Halloween decorations, what a fun Thursday morning we had.

Me time

I know I pretty much just blog about my kids, crafts, my crochet work... but I do have a life, I have friends that I like to hang out with, even though it is hard to get together without kids we do make arrangements and find a way every now and then. Last night I went to a wine bar (Cork) with my MOPS friends, it was quite an interesting drive from/to the wine bar because it was so foggy, but it was a lot of fun.

Yesterday & Today

We went to a pumpkin patch yesterday, ironically we ended up not purchasing a pumpkin... odd, I know, but we had a ton of fun feeding the animals, the kids held bunnies and ducklings, went on rides, played games (the little man even won a goldfish, that is called Randy). What a wonderful day we had.

This morning I kept the kids busy while I cooked. I made a wonderful chicken & veggies soup for lunch and eggplant rollatini with spinach for dinner - yum for me, but sadly, it wasn't a big hit with the kids or hubs. The little lady was busy putting pipe cleaners through the colander holes and the little man was doing what he loves: drawing. Happy Monday.

Yarn, beautiful yarn

Last week I received my box of Red Heart Soft yarn and it made me so happy to get all these beautiful colors to work on my design for Design Wars 5. I squeezed in some crochet time on our way to the pumpkin patch and even snuggled under the blanket with my crochet hook when my sweet pea was asleep and the little man was happily watching a movie. Weekends are fun, I love having my husband home and I love spending time with him and the kids, cooking nice meals and going on fun little outings.
I rarely post pictures of our dog here and I don't know why because she is such a sweet dog and we love her. I can't believe she is going to be 11 years old in January, she sure doesn't look like or act likes it, she is still a happy and energetic little dog. So on Sunday while I was sitting in my favorite spot on the couch, she sat by me and I decided to make her that bandana, it was easy and it worked up quickly, I used a free pattern I found on ravelry.

Foggy Saturday {Autumn}

We woke up to a foggy autumn morning, my husband was committed to go play golf with his brother and uncle, so I decided the kids and I should get dressed and go out and have some fun.
The three of us went to downtown Tacoma, because even though we live here we don't go there very often, not because we don't like it, but mostly because we always have an agenda.
Our first stop was the cupcake shop, we each had a mini cupcake: vanilla for him, red velvet for her and salted caramel for me, then we crossed the street to catch the link (an electric "train" that runs free in downtown) - the kids really enjoyed the ride, after that we walked by the museum of glass and marina, then came home and the kids helped me make a creamy tomato soup & grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.
Shortly after lunch my husband arrived and I had to leave to attend to a friend's baby shower. The little lady was already in her crib taking a nap, she was exhausted from all the fun she had in the morning and my little man was in the living room playing with his toys.
What a wonderful day.
