Summer Bag

I am super proud to show you my new design! This is my "Summer Bag" and although it's called the Summer bag, it's a great bag for any season, it's roomy and trendy. I used cotton yarn and since it's a double stranded bag, it's pretty sturdy and I didn't feel the need to line it.

The pattern is available in my ravelry store, craftsy, etsy shop and also in my website.

I hope you like it as much as I do!

Chain Headband Tutorial

This is an easy peasy headband that I made for my sweet pea and after some requests, I decided to write a quick tutorial to show you how I made it.

- A small amount of Worsted Weight or DK Weight yarn
- Crochet Hook 3.5mm
- 7/8" ribbon (I used an organdy ribbon I already had on hand, but you can use any kind)
- Hot glue
- Scissors
- Tape (optional)

Make five chains with 65 stitches each.  Tape them together, making sure they are not twisted.

Turn it around (you don't want to glue the tape!) and apply some hot glue.

Add a 3 inch piece of ribbon, make sure the ribbon is NOT centered, like in the picture bellow.

Remove the tape, apply hot glue and add a 14" piece of ribbon - that is what you will use to tie your headband.

Apply a little more hot glue and secure the chains and long piece of ribbon by closing up the 3" of ribbon.

That's it, this is what your headband should look like:

And here you can see the headband in use. Enjoy!

Bamboo bringing you down?

Is your bamboo hook snagging while you're crocheting? No problem! Here is how to fix it: Use a nail file to sand it out and apply a small amount of beeswax. The beeswax will seal the bamboo grain and your crochet hook will once again be smooth to work with!

Creme de la Creme

I had the pleasure to work with Creme de la Creme cotton by Red Heart Yarns to create my new Design Wars pattern. I love using cotton for kitchen and bath, so I decided to go with a bath theme.
Creme de la Creme comes in a great variety of colors and it didn't split while I was working with it so that for me is a bonus!

I knew I wanted to make a bath related design, so I thought a bath robe would be great. We have been using the robe as a swimming suit cover up, it works like a charm!
(You can find this pattern in my ravelry store)

I thought it would be nice to have a washcloth and soap saver as well. If you purchase the robe pattern, you will receive the washcloth and soap saver patterns as well, but you can also purchase the washcloth and soap saver separately.

Here is another use for the robe! Isn't it a great house robe to wear over PJ's?

Looking for more ideas to use Creme de la Creme? My Dolly Lovey would be a great pattern to make  with it! The best part? It's 40% off this week - no coupon code needed!
