Switchback Throw

I thought I would start highlighting the projects I created for Modern Tapestry Crochet here, so you can here a little about where my inspiration came from.

This is the Switchback Throw, made in black and white worsted weight yarn, it's a timeless design.

Drawing the graph for this design was a real challenge, I was having the hardest time getting the "waves" to line correctly, it was frustrating and I lost it. My husband saw my desperation and told me to go get some air, he sat down with the graph paper and drew it for me!

The inspiration for this design came from the picture you see below, that is my mom in the late 60's on the famous Copacabana sidewalk in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the behind the scenes. Cheers!

Crochet Unicorns

My daughter has been talking a lot about her upcoming birthday, we like choosing themes, I feel like it's easier to decorate and it represents what they like. The memories I have from the birthday parties my mom used to throw for me are the sweetest ones I have, so I hope I can do the same thing for my kids.

Unicorn is the theme she chose for her 6th birthday and with that in mind, I grabbed my hook and yarn and started making these to give as party favors to the girls she invites. Aren't they adorable?

I used my Stick Horse pattern that is available on ravelry and just added the little horn.

Anyhow, I posted some of these pictures on Facebook and the response I received was amazing! So many positive comments, likes and shares!

I hope the little girls love their unicorns as much as we do!
Cheers!
