Honeycomb Hat

I am so very proud to present you my newest design, the Honeycomb Hat! I have been sitting on this design for a long while, mostly because I was having a hard time finding the time to sit down and write the pattern when so many things are pulling me in different directions. You know, the usual... kids, home, activities... ha! Isn't that just how life goes? But I finally managed to sit down and record a support video, write the pattern and get the ball rolling!
What do you think? Would you make one?

Fireside Blanket

I have been wanting to make a white-ish blanket for awhile to put it on the foot of my bed and then the other day when we went Whidbey Island for my husband to run a marathon, we stayed at a vacation rental home and they had a cream colored chevron crocheted blanket and I thought "that is it, I've got to make mine!".
Once we returned home, I started working and the Fireside Blanket came to life.
The texture of this blanket is my favorite thing about it, nothing is more satisfying than transforming plain solid yarn into something beautiful with your own hands, it is truly a special thing.
These amazing photos were captured by Amanda Tipton Photography - I just adore her work!
What do you think? Are you ready to make one?
The pattern will soon be available in my ravelry store, etsy shop and website

Cobblestones Throw Crochet Pattern

It's February and a new pattern has been published, it is the Cobblestones Throw.
I love the colors I picked, I was a little skeptical in the beginning because you know, I am always making super colorful stuff, but it turned out better than I imagined.
This is a great pattern to work on, after awhile you can remember the repeats and don't even have to look at the graph. I made the whole things while watching TV with my husband in the evenings.
If you wish to give it a try, the pattern is available on ravelry, craftsy, etsy and my website, too.

Mediterranean Tiles Throw - Crochet Pattern

After feeling like I was in a huge crochet funk, I am happy to report that I am back with a new design and I am immensely proud of it!

My new release, the Mediterranean Tiles Throw is now available in all my shops and I am here to share with you a little bit of my inspiration story.

Hang in there with me for a moment. So.... my husband is getting ready to remodel the downstairs bathroom, which means I have been doing a lot of research to show him what I would like the bathroom to be. While browsing for tiles, I came across the picture below (credit: picture from Home Depot's website) and although these are not the tiles I want installed in my bathroom (I am going with white and grey), I love them so much that they inspired me to create my new crochet pattern!

I am sharing this with you because often I am asked about where my inspiration comes from and that is such a hard question to answer, because as you can see, inspiration can come from the most unusual places!

New Crochet Pattern - Stockinette Hat

I am giddy, happy, proud and I could keep going, but I am pretty sure you get the idea of how I feel. Today is the release date of my newest design, the Stockinette Hat, a crochet hat that has a knit look. I scrambled to make that brim part work, after crocheting and frogging several times, I finally felt good about it and I am so pleased with the pictures I received from the photographers - I think they're simply amazing!
So, if you are not a knitter (like me) but love the look of knitted accessories, the Stockinette Hat is perfect for you. The pattern is now available in all my shops. Ravelry, Etsy and Craftsy.

Amazing Bag

The Amazing Bag is my newest crochet pattern, it's a roomy bag, I tend to make things the way I like to use. I have kids, so my bag is always full.
The yarn I used is called Amazing by Lion Brand and to give it a contrast, I used Fisherman's Wool (oatmeal) for the lighter colored bag and Baby Alpaca (black) for the darker colored bag.
The pattern is now available, just click HERE.

Yoga Bag - Crochet Pattern

(Photo credit: Lucy Williams / Inside Crochet)

My Yoga Bag design, that was previously published on issue 73 of the beautiful British magazine, Inside Crochet, is now available in my craftsy shop and ravelry store. The file has been modified to American Crochet terms.
This is by far one of my favorite tapestry designs, I simply love the colors and how it all came together. I feel like I should find some time to go back to yoga just to use this bag, I am not even kidding.

Crochet Bunting {Free Pattern}

This adorable bunting can be used to decorate a bedroom or even a birthday party! It is a fun and rewarding project, it works up quickly = instant gratification!

To make this project, I used Anne Thread and a 2.25mm crochet hook, a pair of scissors and a yarn needle to weave in the ends.

Abbreviations:
Ch = Chain
Sc = Single Crochet
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Sc2tog = Two Single Crochets worked together to decrease

Row 1: Ch 22, sc in 2nd stitch from hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (21 sts)
Row 2: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 17 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (19 sts)
Row 3: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 15 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (17 sts)
Row 4: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 13 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (15 sts)
Row 5: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 11 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (13 sts)
Row 6: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (11 sts)
Row 7: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (9 sts)
Row 8: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 5 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (7 sts)
Row 9: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (5 sts)
Row 10: Sc2tog, 1 sc in next st, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (3 sts)
Row 11: sc the 3 sts together. Ch 1, sc crochet around the triangle you created, making 3 sc in each corner to ensure that you get a nice and flat shape.
Fasten off, weave in loose ends.

I used a different color of thread to string the triangles, by simply making a chain and slip stitching the triangles along the way.
Enjoy!

Hot Water Bottle Cozy

When my kids got sick last month, I had the idea of making a hot water bottle cozy. I remember when I was a kid and my grandma would give me a hot water bottle when my tummy didn't feel good. So this is kind of a sweet thing for me, reminds me of my childhood.

You can grab this pattern in my ravelry store and use the 40% off coupon code NATCROMO. (Offer ends 03/31/2016 11:59PM PST)

Garter Stitch Coffee Sleeve - Free Crochet Pattern

Supplies:
- Worsted Weight Yarn (I used cotton)
- Crochet Hook US Size G6/4.00mm
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle

Instructions:
Chain 32, slip stitch onto the first chain made to form a ring. Make sure it fits around your coffee cup.

Slip stitch on each stitch around working on the back loops only throughout the whole project (do NOT join) until your coffee sleeve measures about 2.5 inches.

With your yarn needle, weave in loose ends.

This is what the "right side" of your project looks like, but when you turn it inside out, it looks like a knitted garter stitch (first picture of this post). Awesome, right?!
